What's Up With Aaron Wolf
Sarasota, FL
I created a new photobook album for photos from my 2012 trip to Florida.
Sarasota, FL
Spent several weeks in the woods with the rainbow family gathering in Ocala. Actually the gathering does not really start until mid February but plenty of family has already started showing up to scout and prepare this years gathering location.
It was a really productive couple of weeks in the woods for me. With a little more practice hunting and a bit more knowledge of plants I'll feel comfortable calling myself an intermediate primitive survivalist. This is to say I could walk into the woods with nothing but a knife and stay indefinably in relative comfort. People often question the value of this knowledge and it turns out - somewhat surprisingly to me - that all these skills are tools to be used on a mythological journey to the center of your own mind, for in the deepest darkest woods what you find is yourself staring back at you, a hidden frighted and frighting potential energy becoming kinetic reality.
After three plus weeks in the woods I decided - with my wilderness shadow tagging along - to take a trip to Sarasota and Sestia Key (#1 beach in the USA) to swim in the warm and fading gulf-side ocean, shower on the beach, visit some blood family and relax. 10 years later Sarasota is still beautiful, even the dam library (where I am now) has an aquarium and is something to see.
If I had the time I'd tell you about the dream I had in Apalachicola...a beautiful goddess took the form of a girl I know in Bloomington Indiana. Made her presence known peeking slightly from behind an oak tree with a smile. Then - the next night - I was in a train yard, the shadow of a dead man was cast upon the side of a fright train, was presently resurrected and rising.
I'm trying to keep my secrets until this blog and the sister networks are working like there supposed, but the sun is setting and I'm still talking like it's high noon. We'll get this expression engine in gear soon (enough?) and be on our way West. Once the pipe is lit no more lies for false impressions. Bring 'em out, bring 'em out.
Ocala, FL
Spent a week in December camping in Apalachicola before stopping over in Gainesville and Sarasota. Spent New Years in Sarasota getting blind drunk on the beach. Currently I'm hiding out in the Ocala woods with the rainbow family for the next few weeks. This will be my second Ocala gathering. Some family let me borrow some power tools and I completely rebuilt the interior of my van to include a new bed frame and some shelves in the rear of the van. Other then my back which is giving me problems lately everything is going pretty good.
Carrabelle, FL
Continuing very slowly down Florida's hidden cost I'm about 20 miles from carrabelle, FL, home to the worlds smallest police station...sounds good to me. I'm south of Apalachicola National Forest, plan is to spend a few days in the forest before moving on.
I've finally got my netbook tethered to my blackberry (switched to sprint which gives me unlimited data...woot!) which should make keeping up with the site a bit easier.
Hell yeah, I'm in Florida, its sunny and warm and life is good. They tell me Christmas is this weekend, but it's 75 digress here and I'm not sure I believe it. I plan to lift my pipe and offer the solstice blessings this weekend all the same.
Port Saint Joe, FL
Made it to Florida, stopped in Panama Beach and am currently traveling down the pan handle along the cost discovering the so called "hidden cost." The tourist season does not start until February in north Florida so really the whole state has kind of a "hidden" feel to it which is just fine by be. The weather is nice and there are no crowds.
Bloomington, IN
Updated the website finally. Once again most of the updates are back end stuff but I'm ready to start rolling out some cool features soon. I'm pretty much stuck in Indiana waiting for new tags to show up in the mail. The futures uncertain, the end is always near...
